COUNTRY BRAND PROTOCOL​

Essential Costa Rica is a rigorous country brand standard, promoted by the export promotion agency (PROCOMER), that assesses our management system. Its purpose is to showcase Costa Rican organizations that meet the high standards of quality, social commitment, environmental protection, equality and innovation to the world.​

MSC (CERTIFIED SUSTAINABLE SEAFOOD)​

MSC sets the standard for sustainable, traceable fishing of certified sustainable fishery products. The blue MSC label is given to seafood products from fisheries certified under the standard and ensures that the distributors of these products meet the MSC Chain of Custody Standard for traceability.​

DOLPHIN SAFE EXPORT REQUIREMENT AND THE ENVIRONMENT​

We have been certified by EARTH ISLAND INSTITUTE, an international institute that monitors tuna companies across the globe to ensure that tuna is caught with methods that do not harm dolphins or other marine mammals in order to protect the marine ecosystem.​

FOOD SAFETY CERTIFIED BY BRITISH RETAIL CONSORTIUM​

We have been BRC Food Safety certified since 2005. This prestigious European standard, recognized and respected worldwide, guarantees and backs our strict safety controls in all our operations. It is considered one of the highest and most demanding standards, a pre-requisite to distribution across the Walmart supermarket chain asks that we be certified by either this standard or one of the standards approved by the Global Food Safety Initiative.​

SEDEX SMETA CERTIFICATION (4 PILLARS)​

This certification determines the method for assessing compliance in 4 main modules: 1) health and safety; 2) labor standards; 3) environment; and 4) business ethics.​

KOSHER AND HALAL CERTIFICATIONS​

Marketing our products in very exclusive, highly demanding markets means we must ensure the integrity and specific labeling of what we are offering. With Kosher and Halal certifications, we give differentiated treatment to our products compared to regular products to satisfy the demands of Jewish and Muslim communities for the food they consume.​

NON-GMO PROJECT VERIFIED​

Alimentos Prosalud has been accredited by NON-GMO PROJECT; this certification applies to organic products that contain no ingredients with genetically modified organisms (GMOs).​

​ECOLOGICAL BLUE FLAG CERTIFICATION PROGRAM​

The Ecological Blue Flag is an award or emblem that is granted every year. The program awards efforts and volunteer work for the benefit of conservation and development in harmony with natural resource protection.

FRIEND OF THE SEA / SUSTAINABLE FISHERY​

Friend of the Sea is a standard that certifies sustainable fishing; companies opting for this certification aim for sustainable, environmentally and ocean-responsible products. This recognition enhances the brand value of our products.​

WE HAVE BEEN ISO 9001:2008 CERTIFIED SINCE DECEMBER 2003​

This standard certifies that our organization has a quality management system in place in all our operations, guaranteeing strict control of our products to ensure their optimum quality.  Compliance is verified by DNV-GL “DET NORSKE VERITAS” Mexico, a certifier with extensive experience in certifications of every type the world over.​

PROTOCOLO DE MARCA PAÍS

Esencial Costa Rica es un estándar riguroso de marca país impulsado por la Promotora de Comercio Exterior y que evalúa nuestro Sistema de Gestión. Dicho parámetro tiene como objetivo mostrar al mundo que nuestras organizaciones costarricenses cuentan y cumplen con altos estándares enfocados a la calidad, al compromiso social, al medio ambiente, a la equidad y a la innovación.

CERTIFICACIONES KOSHER Y HALAL.

Al comercializar nuestros productos en mercados muy exclusivos y de altas exigencias, debemos asegurar la integridad y denominación específica de los productos que ofrecemos. Las certificaciones Kosher y Halal permiten otorgarles a nuestros productos un tratamiento diferenciado en función de un producto regular, con el fin de satisfacer las exigencias de comunidades judías en cuando a los alimentos que consumen.

NON GMO PROJECT VERIFIED

Alimentos Prosalud ha sido acreditada por NON GMO PROJECT, una certificación que aplica para aquellos productos orgánicos que, dentro de sus componentes, no presentan insumos con organismos genéticamente modificados (GMO).

CERTIFICACIÓN PROGRAMA BANDERA AZUL ECOLÓGICA

La Bandera Azul Ecológica es un galardón o distintivo que se otorga cada año. Este programa premia el esfuerzo y el trabajo voluntario en beneficio de la conservación y el desarrollo, en armonía con la protección de los recursos naturales.

MSC (CERTIFIED SUSTAINABLE SEAFOOD).

MSC establece los estándares para la pesca sostenible y trazabilidad de los productos pesqueros sostenibles con certificación. El sello azul de MSC se concede a los productos del mar provenientes de una pesca certificada bajo el estándar, y a su vez, las empresas que lo comercializan cumplen con el Estándar de Cadena de Custodia en materia de trazabilidad.

FRIEND OF THE SEA / PESCA SOSTENIBLE

Friend of the Sea (Amigos del Océano) es un estándar que certifica la pesca sostenible, de manera que las empresas que optan por esta certificación cuentan con una orientación a productos sostenibles y responsables con el medio ambiente y nuestros océanos. Dicho reconocimiento le otorga un mayor valor de marca a nuestros productos.

AMBIENTE Y REQUISITO EXPORTACIÓN DOLPHIN SAFE

Hemos sido certificados por EARTH ISLAND INSTITUTE. Este instituto internacional monitorea empresas de atún en todo el mundo, para asegurar que dicho recurso es capturado por métodos que no les provoquen daño a los delfines ni a otros mamíferos marinos, en aras de proteger el ecosistema marino.

ADMINISTRACIÓN DE LA INOCUIDAD BRITISH RETAIL CONSORTIUM

Obtuvimos la certificación BRC FOOD desde el año 2005. Una prestigiosa norma europea de reconocimiento y alcance internacional, la cual garantiza y respalda nuestros estrictos controles de inocuidad alimentaria en todas las operaciones. Es considerada como uno de los estándares más altos y exigentes, al punto que la cadena de supermercados Wal-Mart solicita que estemos certificados con esta o bien con alguna de las normas aprobadas por la Global Food Safety Intention.
